CHOOSING AV LIFESTYLES DESIGN-BUILD PROCESS

As a Design-Build Control4 home automation integrator serving Charleston, SC, we implement 5 Phases through the course of a project from concept to completion. Careful thought and attention is given during each step to ensure you receive a solution tailored to your needs and delivers the benefits you desire. We are committed to making the entire experience from start to finish as effective and efficient as possible.

We are responsible for all phases of the AV and integrated technology work including the needs assessment, system design, engineering, installation, commissioning, training and service. During the design-build process it is very important to ensure the needs analysis (also called the Discovery) has been performed otherwise the system design and project contract will be too vague.

.1 DISCOVERY PROCESS:

The project always begins with a discovery process, where we listen to our client’s needs and desires. Our preliminary interviews are relaxed yet specific, as we endeavor to balance the desires of the client with the realities of technological trends, budget constraints and built-in obsolescence. If you are building a new home or working with a design professional, we will review your plans and consult with your architect, builder, contractor, and interior designer during this process.

.2 SYSTEM DESIGN & PROJECT PROPOSAL:

Now that pertinent information has been gathered, a detailed report can be developed in accordance to these plans. We put our system design team to work to define all aspects of the project functionality for each room or area. An extensive set of project drawings are created that show graphically where all hardware and pre-wire drops will be located. In addition all hardware and labor is defined with exacting detail. We meet with the client to deliver this information for review, feedback and ultimate approval.

.3 IMPLEMENTATION:

After the client has signed off on the system design and the project price, we then identify the start date of the project and order equipment as necessary. If low voltage wiring and enclosures are appropriate we will do this at this time. We then purchase all home automation equipment and assemble as appropriate in our office or at the job site. System programming and documentation will be done at this phase as appropriate for each job. Our job is only complete when client is 100% satisfied with the finished product. The length of time for this phase is dependent upon the time frame of construction.

.4 TRAINING:

We are not finished until the system is complete, fully functional, and we train you. We will walk through the system with you from room to room, show you how to operate everything and answer all of your questions. We will make sure you understand and practice how to operate everything before we leave. And even then, if you have any questions, we are a phone call away for support.

.5 SERVICE & SUPPORT:

We strive to make every client, a client for life. We ensure that the investment they have made into their home is well protected and may be serviced for life with accuracy and diligence. We assist with manufacturer warranties plus provide a 12 month workmanship warranty.
